What Is Trunk or Treating?<\/h4>

During trunk or treat events adults decorate the back of their cars (and possibly themselves also) for Halloween, load up on candy, and come sit in a parking lot for kids to “trick or treat” from car-to-car. It’s more fun than it sounds, trust me! Sometimes kids come in the hundreds, fully dressed in Halloween costumes and holding out bags or plastic pumpkins for treats. The adults get to socialize and be creative while seeing all the cute and scary costumes.<\/p>

How Does Trunk or Treating Work?<\/h4>

About a month beforehand, the PCBA will start collecting volunteers. Parking spaces can be limited, so be sure to get in on the fun as quickly as possible!<\/p>

When the big night comes, cars are given specific spots to line up around the Garden Square. Some of the car decorations and displays can be quite elaborate, requiring hours of setup time in advance.<\/p>

When the kids arrive, the real fun begins. Kids will wander from car to car, collecting candy and other treats (as well as providing jokes upon request) just like at houses on Halloween night. Many cars may give out more than one item, so children end up with a pretty good haul of Halloween candy. Of course, the amount and style of candy will vary from year to year. And you can probably expect that the parents get to steal a few pieces, of course, as well as have just as much fun!<\/p>
