History
The Prairie City Farmers’ Market began several years ago at the request of several community members wanting fresh produce, homemade goods and a space to sell handmade goods and artistic works. Since its inception, the Market has had various offerings, formats and schedules. With the new resurgence on supporting local farmers and entrepreneurs, the Prairie City Farmers’ Market, with the help of support from the Prairie City Business Association, renewed its offerings and format in 2016. Currently, the Market supports nearly 20 vendors each Thursday evening during June through September. A Winter Market, held in December, continues to be a well-attended event, providing an opportunity to find special holiday gifts.
Location
The Prairie City Farmers’ Market is held on Thursday evening in the Garden Square, the park in the center of Prairie City’s downtown area.
Weather
While the Market plans to be open, rain or shine, inclement weather can make closures, delays and/or cancellations possible. The Prairie City Farmers’ Market social media outlets will be used to provide updates.
Look forward to seeing you there!
